“For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down,
that it will sprout again,
and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.”
Job 14:7
Every year the wisteria, tangled in the brush on the other side of the railroad tracks, disappears into its winter dormancy and sprouts again in spring. And, every year, I forget and wonder how it can survive the cold, stark dreariness of winter to make it another year, when it looks so lifeless and dead. But, then, almost overnight, the vines turn green, little runners start sprouting and, soon, vibrant, lavender blooms dangle in lush clusters from the tree tops. It’s truly a sight to behold and I’m holding my breath this very minute waiting to see it sprout again. Kind of a hopeful picture of our lives, isn’t it? With the Creator’s help, we too can survive the harshness of winter to bloom again.

Love your post, Beth. It seems we both have trees on our minds this week. I appreciate thinking about how we all grow together.
